On foot from the centre: the best arrival in Palma
From Passeig del Born, the old town’s main axis, it is about a 5-minute walk: head down the avenue towards the sea, turn left along Avinguda Antoni Maura and the cathedral fills the view, with the Almudaina palace on your right. From Plaça Major allow 10–12 minutes through the old-town lanes. Arrive with time to spare and loop through Parc de la Mar for the classic photo with the reflection in the lake.
By city bus (EMT Palma)
City buses do not enter the old town. The useful stops cluster around Passeig del Born and Avinguda Antoni Maura, 3–5 minutes on foot from Plaça de la Seu, and several EMT Palma lines serve them. Route numbers and frequencies change, so run your journey through the official planner at emtpalma.cat — set “Catedral” or “Born” as your destination and it returns the line and exact stop.
From Palma airport (PMI)
Son Sant Joan airport is about 8 km from the cathedral. Two straightforward options:
- EMT A1 bus: links the terminals with central Palma. Get off around Passeig del Born / Antoni Maura and walk 5 minutes. Timetable and fare at emtpalma.cat.
- Taxi: roughly 15–20 minutes depending on traffic, dropping you near Antoni Maura. The fare follows the official meter, airport supplement included.

By car: the two car parks that actually work
Palma’s old town is a restricted traffic zone (ACIRE), so do not plan on driving to the door. Both practical car parks are paid and underground:
- Parc de la Mar car park: beneath the park at the foot of the south facade. You surface with the cathedral towering above you; a ramp takes you up the wall.
- Antoni Maura car park: on the avenue of the same name, about 3 minutes on foot from Plaça de la Seu and the Born.

At Plaça de la Seu: which entrance to use
The visitor entrance moves with the seasons, as signposted at the cathedral itself:
- November–March: through Casa de l’Almoina, the annex building by the north side.
- April–October: through the Portal del Mirador, Guillem Sagrera’s grand Gothic doorway facing the sea.

Accessibility
The Tiqets product page confirms wheelchair access for the tourist route. The esplanade is level, and ramps connect it with Parc de la Mar below the wall.
